Happy Holidays!
I’ve been catching up drawing some things that I need to get out of my system before I feel like I can start some really cool stuff in the New Year.
There are two themes to this post, Clean Language coaching and Strategy.
Clean Language
I November I was asked to Sketchnote at the Clean Language Coaching conference Metaphorum 2019. This sketch of Caitlin Walkers workshop was done after the event from notes.
It shows how a Clean Facilitator gets the group to self model using 4 simple (wrong, but useful) models - Triune Brain, PRO, Karpmans Drama Triangle, and Evidence Inference Impact.
Sticking with Clean Language coaching I created this Sketch for a Workshop at the University looking at Clean tools and how we can use them to have better conversations. The Clean-O-Meter gives names for different types of conversation you can choose to have.
I’ve got a few more ‘What is Clean?’, ‘What is Systemic Modelling?’ type posts coming in the next year.
Good Strategy / Bad Strategy
I’m in the process of sketching and reading Good Strategy / Bad Strategy by Richard Rumelt. I’ve not finished yet, but the first few chapters are really great, with lots of ways to spot a Bad Strategy. First up, an overview of the book.
The four major Hallmarks of a Bad Strategy, drawn on what are supposed to be sticking plasters from Chapter 3. Visuals make these easier for me to remember.
I’m in the process of drawing up a load of Complexity and Cynefin sketchnotes, and some systems thinking approaches. These should be done in the next month or so.
Let me know what you like, what doesn't work so well and what you’d like to see niche future with these visuals and posts.
keep learning!
